Another New Deal fraud. Pertemps falsify paperwork stating participants have attended twice the amount they actually have.
Complaint:
There are other issues I have with PPDG, for instance the number of hours that I’m actually attending the centre vs the number of hours that I’m supposed to be there, and how technically we’re all comitting fraud (along with PPDG themselves) by falsifying information on the timesheets, however as this arrangement is actually beneficial to me, I’m not that fussed with it.
We’re supposed to be there for 4 hours a day, two days per week. We actually spend two hours there, yet the timesheets which are signed, clearly say 4 hours – we’re told the times to write, the Code next to it (usually J), then they’re signed.
Personally it’s a catch 22 – I don’t tend to agree with it, but at the end of the day, given that it really is a waste of time being there, I personally don’t mind.
The problem, however, will be when I’m undoubtedly returned to the Jobcentre in 13 weeks, and they want to know why I haven’t managed to secure a job – “After all we sent you to Pertemps, and they offered you 8hrs per week of support, so you should have got something by now”. Hence the Catch 22 situation.
Commentary:
The complainant is correct - both the Provider and the New Deal participant are equally to blame for the fraud however the New Deal participant doesn’t have a say in the matter as they would be exited for speaking out.
