Flexible New Deal & DWP Jobcentre Plus New Deal Programme Provision Complaints

Fraud cases ignored because they aren’t widespread enough

DWP were aware of numerous fraud cases up and down the country with different providers for over 8 years but didn’t take action due to each case being too small, claims an ex-DWP employee.

Foreword:

It has been recently announced that New Deal training providers such as A4e and Working Links are under investigation for fraud. One previous employee dishes the dirt on failed procedures allowing this fraud to happen.

Firstly, the new Work and Pensions secretary stated she may cancel Flexible New Deal contracts if the investigations happen to be “widespread”, this possibly a coincidence, I think not, and secondly the attitude the Government has of getting the providers just to pay back any amounts in dispute instead of prosecuting for fraud proves the laid back DWP approach to fraud of public money.

This also raises questions that how was a4e allowed to bid for Flexible New Deal when already under investigation (for 13 months) for fraud. This shows how much of a big issue this is, 13 months is at least 1,520 hours per person working on this case, a few forged forms? I think not.

A good point was raised: how can this be fraud if the DWP turns a blind eye to it and the DWP knew that this was happening? The only way this can be fraud is if (clearly the abuse of public money was fraudulently allocated to private businesses with the Government’s intention of allowing this to happen) the fraud investigation was opened outside the DWP by the Serious Fraud Office (SFO) and that the DWP were also under investigation as being part of the fraud.

Complaint:

There were questions about A4E when I was working at the DWP in 2000 and fraudulent activity goes on because it is allowed to happen.

The DWP know all about the loopholes and the fraudulent activity that happens, they are just not concerned as the fraud looks small scale and they only want to intervene if there is something in it for themselves.

The same happens with ATW - Access To Work, where claims are made when equipment is never ordered or used.

If you do not check that everything is running smoothly, how can they complain about being fiddled?

  1. The action taken to national disaster is noble but it’s a real shame that so many people take advantage of the sad situations.

I mean everytime there is an earthquake, a flood, an oil spill - there’s always a group of heartless people who rip off tax payers.

This is in response to reading that 4 of Oprah Winfreys “angels” got busted ripping off the system. Shame on them!

    contact center

A contact center (also referred to as a customer interaction center or e-contact center) is a central point in an enterprise from which all customer contacts are managed. The contact center typically includes one or more online call centers but may include other types of customer contact as well, including e-mail newsletters, postal mail catalogs, Web site inquiries and chats, and the collection of information from customers during in-store purchasing. A contact center is generally part of an enterprise’s overall customer relationship management (CRM).

A contact center would typically be provided with special software that would allow contact information to be routed to appropriate people, contacts to be tracked, and data to be gathered. A contact center is considered to be an important element in multichannel marketing.

    call center

A call center is a physical place where customer and other telephone calls are handled by an organization, usually with some amount of computer automation. Typically, a call center has the ability to handle a considerable volume of calls at the same time, to screen calls and forward them to someone qualified to handle them, and to log calls. Call centers are used by mail-order catalog organizations, telemarketing companies, computer product help desks, and any large organization that uses the telephone to sell or service products and services. Two related terms are virtual call center and contact center.

Challenge #1: Ensuring your customers have the latest information about your business.
Information is changing so rapidly today that it becomes very challenging for businesses to communicate these changes to their customers. Several industry studies suggest that the most cost effective method of promoting company brands, products and services is when customers call in to your business, while they are in the process of waiting for a live agent. While the customer is waiting it is essential for the information you provide to your callers to be as current as possible. Interalia Contact Center solutions allow you to be able to instantly change your customer messages anytime and anywhere.
Specialized verticals include financial services, healthcare, insurance, telecommunications, energy, publishing and political advocacy/voter contact.
